Color Wheel Collages

We usually take some time at the beginning of the year to review the color wheel and all the different ways that colors relate to each other.  Each grade level does a different color wheel project.  Second graders are given red, blue, and yellow paint which they must mix to create the color wheel.  After the projects have dried we look at the work of Matisse, and using our color wheels and the "squiggly scissors" the students are challenged to make a collage of their own.  I am always amazed at all the different ways the students put their collages together.  Here are just a few.
