There Be Pirates!

So our music teacher AND one of our LRC teachers happen to share a birthday-which happens to fall on "National Talk Like A Pirate Day". Then of course there was that pirate movie that came out this summer.  Not to mention that the movie was created by some right-brained people to mimic a ride created by some other right-brained people.  If you put all this together and present it to an Art Teacher she will most likely create pirate projects for the first few weeks of school! Garfield kids are making Treasure Chests, 3rd graders are making treasure maps, and 2nd graders are making pirate ships.  By the time the 19th rolls around the kids will either be totally fired up or....sick of the whole process! I (of course) am hoping for the former rather than the latter!   These first pictures are of the 2nd graders 'scraping paint' for the backgrounds of their ships.
